Security Group/Firewall Rules

Overview

This article goes over the Security Group and Firewall ingress rules for StorageLink.

The SSH protocol (port 22) should be restricted to System Administrators. The Web Interface ports (80 and 443) should be opened to the world, but depending on how many users are connecting to the server, can be locked down to their IP addresses.

TCP Ports

StorageLink exposes the following ports and protocols:

• 22: SSH
• 80: HTTP
• 443: HTTPS

The SSH protocol runs on TCP port 22 and this port should be restricted to SysAdmins.

Web ports 80 and 443 are used for the Web Interface and should be opened to the world so all users can connect to the server.
