Testing the Cloud Connection

Overview

After setting up a Cloud Connection, you can verify its configuration using the Test Connection feature available on the Cloud Connection details page.

How to Use Test Connection

Click the Test Connection button to validate your Cloud Connection setup. A successful test displays three checkmarks, indicating proper configuration and the ability to access your bucket, view folders and files, and interact with bucket contents.

If the test fails, the connection hasn't been properly configured.

Troubleshooting Failed Tests

When Test Connection fails or hangs, investigate these potential issues:

  • Bucket name formatting – Ensure the bucket name follows the correct format for your cloud provider
  • Access credentials – Verify the access key and secret key are accurate
  • Permissions – Confirm your instance has appropriate permissions, particularly if using instance credentials on non-default Cloud Connections
  • New connection – Try creating a fresh Cloud Connection to isolate the problem
tip

Monitor your browser status bar, as displayed results may be from previous attempts if a test attempt hangs.
