Pricing in SFTP Gateway
Overview
Pricing for SFTP Gateway on the AWS marketplace is pay-as-you-go. This is a software charge on top of the cost of the VM.
SFTP Gateway is available in different pricing plans:
- SFTP Gateway Standard - up to 5 SFTP Users
- SFTP Gateway Professional - up to 100 SFTP Users
- SFTP Gateway Enterprise - up to 1000 SFTP Users
The price depends on the selected pricing plan. And for some plans, it also can depend on the instance type selected.
SFTP Gateway Standard
SFTP Gateway Standard starts at $0.07
USD for every hour that the VM runs:
- USD
0.07
/hour (USD 51.10/month) for instances with 1-2 vCPU(s). - USD
0.08
/hour (USD 58.40/month) for instances with 4 or more vCPUs.
You can run SFTP Gateway Standard on a t3.small
(1 vCPU, 2 GB RAM) instance or better, which costs 0.02
/hour.
SFTP Gateway Professional
SFTP Gateway Professional is a flat rate of $0.15
per hour (USD 108/month).
In a production environment, you might run this on a single instance (e.g. m5.large
2 vCPUs, 8 GB RAM) which is 0.096
/hour.
SFTP Gateway Enterprise
SFTP Gateway Enterprise is intended for large enterprises with custom development and integration needs. Contact us at sales@thorntech.com so we can learn more about your requirements, and write a custom proposal for your use case.
How to stop being charged
To stop getting charged for SFTP Gateway, stop (de-allocate) or terminate the VM in the AWS console. Deallocating will help ensure that you are no longer being metered for the underlying VM infrastructure.
Annual pricing
If you are running SFTP Gateway in production, and you know which EC2 instance size best supports your workload, you might consider the annual pricing model. This locks you in for a year, but gives you a discount.
Like a reserved instance, annual pricing gives you a "credit" for each hour, over the course of a year. This works well if you have a single EC2 instance running around the clock.
