IP Cutover Procedure
Overview
This article goes over the process of taking the IP Address from your previous instance and associating it with a new instance, or Load Balancer, as we'll cover both scenarios.
IP Address cutover process - Single Instance Network Interface
First, navigate to the old IP Address resource you want to switch onto the new instance & dissociate it.
Make sure you take the same step for the IP Address on the new instance as well, since it'd first need to be dissociated before we associate the old IP onto it.
Once both IPs have been dissociated, navigate to the old IP Address resource and associate it with the new network interface you want.
Now, the old IP Address will be configured on the new server.
IP Address cutover process - HA Load Balancer
If you're in a High Availability deployment and using a Load Balancer, this process is slightly different.
First, navigate to the old IP Address resource you want to switch onto the new instance & dissociate it.
Make sure you take the same step for the IP Address on the new instance as well, since it'd first need to be dissociated before we associate the old IP onto it.
Once both IPs have been dissociated, navigate to the Frontend IP configuration
section on the Load Balancer to associate the new IP Address.
Click on the sftpgw-ip
resource and you'll be brought to a configuration page where you can switch the IP Address.
